Episode Three - Broken Builders Promises...
So, episode three, where are we now?
It's been a hectic few weeks since I last electronically put pen to paper. There have been some huge developments at the new site on New Kings Road. All the electric wiring and data cables have been laid, all the partition walls have been erected, lots of plumbing and pipes have been hidden behind walls and under floors.
As you can see from the most recent photos, things are really starting to progress.
We had envisaged the building work being finished before Christmas and we're hoping to invite you to a opening ceremony of some description before the Christmas season.
However, this is looking a little optimistic now as it appears I was poorly advised...
The builders and their advisers assured me we would not need planning consent to put air conditioning condensers on the rear of the building... it now seems we do! So the harsh lesson I have learned is not to accept unqualified assurances, do your own research. The one thing that keeps me sane throughout this whole adventure is the fact that I am primarily a Dentist, and I would like to think a very good one, not a builder. It's ok... we will get there eventually and it will be great.
I am very hopeful that the next episode we'll be able to show your beautiful new surgeries actually taking shape, cabinetry being installed, walls being plastered, dental chairs and equipment being fitted...
I would like to thank you all for continuing to read this blog. It has helped me to vent some of my frustrations with the journey I have been on and I hope you find it mildly entertaining and informative. Many of you have been very kind over the years in recommending our practice to your friends, family and colleagues. We are very grateful for this generosity and without it we could never have embarked upon this expansion of our services. So a massive thank you and we all hope you will continue to let your nearest and dearest know about our new and old practices.
With my best wishes.
