Straight Teeth and Invisalign

Braces are perhaps the best way to get straight teeth when you’re experiencing misalignment issues. Whether you choose to have the more traditional metal braces or Invisalign clear aligners, you can expect your smile to become straight.

The amount of time required to wear the braces will depend on the severity of your misalignment and the type of braces you opt for.

Composite bonding and dentures are two ways that minor aesthetic issues can be addressed but not necessarily by straightening them. These treatments can fill in gaps or chips but are not very effective like braces to fix misalignment.

Having dental implants fitted can maintain the straightness of your teeth so that neighbouring teeth don’t begin to occupy the free space.

You don’t necessarily need straight teeth for composite bonding. Composite bonding helps to fill gaps and chips, among other things, in your teeth but doesn’t require all your teeth to be straight.

To have composite bonding treatment, your teeth must be infection-free. Even with teeth that aren’t straight, you can prevent tooth infections with good oral care, enabling you to have composite bonding if you need it.

The chances are that if you are unhappy with your un-straight teeth, you would prefer the appearance of straight teeth. Generally, people are more confident after they’ve had their teeth straightened as a result of them being satisfied with the results of braces.

In all likelihood, you will like your new appearance as your teeth are straight and healthy.

Straight teeth and misaligned teeth are often the result of genetics, which make up a large portion of the reason our teeth are the shape and size they are, as well as the formation of your jaw, which can affect your tooth alignment.

If your parents needed braces, you could be more likely to require braces than somebody whose parents didn’t need alignment treatment.

Attractiveness is subjective so it’s difficult to say with certainty what is attractive and what isn’t. However, it’s reasonable to assume that most people are more attracted to straight teeth than they are to unstraight teeth.

We understand if you feel self-conscious about the condition of your teeth and want to do something about it. Speak to our dental professionals to book an appointment and see what we can do for you.

It isn’t strictly true that straight teeth are always healthier than misaligned teeth. Some people are just fortunate enough to have straight teeth but might not take as much care for their smile as somebody else who has slightly crooked teeth.

Straight teeth can be easier to clean sufficiently, which means you could have healthier teeth because of this, even though it doesn’t guarantee it.

Straight teeth can contribute towards cleaner teeth and can also aid digestion through chewing properly. You will be less likely to have plaque build-ups between teeth because brushing in tight spaces and flossing are made much easier.

However, proper care is the most important thing when it comes to oral hygiene, whether your teeth are straight or not.
